A Massachusetts most wanted fugitive captured

FALL RIVER, MASS (WLNE) – Massachusetts State Police, Lowell Police, and Fall River Police captured a fugitive of the most wanted list on Tuesday.

20-year-old Xavier DeJesus was added to the most-wanted list earlier in July for the murder of a woman in Lowell in June.

The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (MSP VFAS) troopers developed information that DeJesus may be in the Fall River area.

Following that information, officers approached a residence on Stevens Streeter where Dejesus was believed to be hiding, at 1:00 PM.

According to police, DeJesus attempted to run out the back door but quickly ran back inside after seeing police in the rear of the building.

Officers were able to find DeJesus in the basement and took him into custody.

DeJesus was returned to Middlesex Country pending arraignment in Lowell District Court on Wednesday.
