A 67 Year old man suffered life threatening injuries Friday after falling 25 to 30 feet while pruning a pine tree.

The man was taken by a medical helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.

Fire Chief Ted Joubert said the man suffered possible internal injuries from the fall.

The man was pruning a tree with a friend at 320 Oakridge Ave. when the accident occurred.

A branch was being cut by the victim when he fell from the tree on a pile of pine needles.

While 3 firefighters were treating the man, the branch had fallen down against another tree just brushing the firefighters who covered the mans body with their own to prevent further injury.

Firefighters responded to the scene with a ladder truck and an ambulance.
