A pregnant woman from Pawtucket is arrested for DUI

A pregnant woman from Pawtucket is arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of liquor and/or Drugs.

At approximately 11:25 p.m. Saturday, troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks investigated a motor vehicle accident on Service Road in Providence. Their investigation revealed Taja Perry 26, of  Pawtucket, showed signs of intoxication, and was taken into custody.

Troopers charged her with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, driving without a license, and obstructing a police officer.

Perry has been released with in the custody of another person. She is scheduled to appear on December 1, 2015 for a formal arraignment.

The details of the arrest and Ms. Perry’s pregnancy were referred to DCYF for investigation.
