A Stormy Evening Commute

Prepare for a steady rain this afternoon with pockets of moderate and heavy rain arriving for the evening commute. The wind speed will ramp up too and become gusty.   It’s possible to see some minor damage from wind gusts this evening between 4 and 8 pm. Small branches breaking can cause isolated power outages.  Be sure to secure loose objects especially empty garbage cans and holiday decorations. High pressure returns Thursday and Friday with dry weather. Then we’re back to umbrellas as the weekend starts rainy and ends dry.

Today: A WIND ADVISORY has been issued for the afternoon and evening. Expect moderate to heavy rain especially between 3 and 7 pm.
Temperatures will hold in the upper 50s. Southwest wind will increase to 20 to 30 mph. Gusts will likely reach 40-50 mph inland and 50-60 mph at the shore.

Tonight: Rain ends after 8 pm with partial clearing overnight. Temperatures fall to near 40 by midnight. Lows in the mid 30s with continued windy conditions.

Thursday: A mostly sunny sky. Afternoon high temperatures reaching the low 40s. Windy WNW 15-30 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid to upper 40s. Light breeze.

Weekend: A soaker Saturday with highs in the 50s. Windy both days with sunshine returning Sunday as we cool to the 40s.
