AAA Northeast: Gas prices down 7 cents in Rhode Island
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — AAA Northeast said Tuesday that gas prices in Rhode Island are down 7 cents when compared to last week.
This week’s average price per gallon for gas is $3.26, lower than last week’s $3.33. The price is also 44 cents lower than last month, which was $3.70 per gallon.
Rhode Island’s average gas price is 16 cents higher than the average nationally, said AAA Northeast.
“Increasing supply and soft gasoline demand are pushing pump prices lower,” Diana Gugliotta, director of public affairs for AAA Northeast said. “Gasoline throughout the Northeast is now cheaper than the same time last year, which might have seemed unimaginable when prices peaked at record highs this past summer.”
According to AAA Northeast, Massachusetts current average price for a gallon of gas is 11 cents higher at $3.37, and Connecticut’s is 13 cents lower, sitting at $3.13.
