ABC6 Weather Online - Friday, March 6
Dry this morning but we will see increasing clouds through the day. Watching two systems that will keep the clouds around and eventually bring in some light rain showers later in the day/early evening. Highs will be in the upper 40s.
Overnight with some cooler air settling in, some light snow showers expected although not expecting much for accumulation. A coating to 1″ for most of RI, especially on grassy surfaces. 1-2″ for SE MA, including New Bedford. Highest totals will be over the Cape/Islands, over 3″ possible for Nantucket. The winds will also be picking up overnight, highest gusts for far SE MA. *A Winter Weather Advisory for Cape/Islands and also a High Wind Warning with gusts up to 60MPH for Cape/Islands.*
We will clear out quickly on Saturday morning but it’s going to be quite windy on Saturday. Expect sunshine but highs will only be in the low 40s and with the wind we will feel much cooler. A Moderate Weather Aware day in place because of the gusty winds. Overnight the winds will back off with lows dropping into the mid 20s.
*Don’t forget to ‘Spring Forward’ this weekend with the clocks, also a good time of year to check your smoke detectors!* Sunrise on Sunday morning at 7:09AM, sunset at 6:44PM!
We will rebound very nicely on Sunday with plenty of sunshine, the chilly morning temperatures will eventually be back into the low 50s.
Monday starts very warm, highs in the low 60s with partly sunny conditions! More clouds overnight with some spotty showers possible on Tuesday, highs still mild in the low to mid 50s.
