Image of Anne Frank projected onto Wyatt Detention Facility

CENTRAL FALLS (WLNE) – Following similar actions in Boston back in March, Jewish activist with Never Again Action Rhode Island, projected an image on the side of the training building at the Wyatt Detention Facility.

The image is of Anne Frank and it is accompanied by the message “Ann Frank died in a crowded detention center of an infectious disease.”

According to Never Again Action Rhode Island, the projection calls for Governor Raimondo to release everyone in ICE detention, referring to the danger of COVID-19.

“Once the virus reaches those who are held behind bars, it will spread and we’ll see countless lives lost,” said Tal Frieden, an organizer with Never Again Action Rhode Island.

Similar outbreaks have spread in Riker’s Island in New York, according to Never Again Action Rhode Island.
