PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Dozens of animals from The Humane Society of St. Thomas, have arrived in Massachusetts and are looking to find a forever home.

The only animal shelter on the island, has been devastated by the pandemic, resulting in fewer people being able to adopt.

The MSPCA has transported both dogs and cats to Massachusetts, where the demand for pets has skyrocketed since the pandemic hit.  The first transport consisted of ten cats and three dogs.  These animals completed their mandatory 48-hour quarantine and have since been adopted into new homes. The second transport brought 23 cats, kittens, and one dog with a puppy.  The second batch are currently in quarantine at the MSPCA’s Cape Cod facility.

The MSPCA says all of these animals are healthy, friendly, and social.  Interested adopters can email capeadoptions@mspca.org for more information.
