A Pawtucket man charged with murdering his 10-year-old daughter may face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Attorney General Peter Kilmartin has filed notice with Providence Superior Court saying his office intends to seek life without parole for Jorge Depina based on the nature of his crimes.
DePina, 32, is accused of murdering his daughter, Aleida, after what prosecutors believe may have been years of sexual and physical abuse.
The Attorney General's office believe that they will be able to meet the standard of proof necessary to satisfy the life without parole statute of aggravated assault and torture.
