Air Quality Alert in Effect
The Environmental Protection Agency has issued a poor air-quality warning for today.
The usual recommendations are in effect: use public transportation if possible, avoid the use of small gasoline engines like those on lawnmowers or chainsaws, and avoiding strenuous outdoor activity.
The warning covers all of Rhode Island, southern Connecticut, and most of Southcoast Massachusetts.
