Airline charges man $770M for extra legroom

A comedian says an airline almost charged him nearly one billion Australian dollars for extra leg room.

Dave O’Neil posted on social media that he received the payment request from Qantas Airways’ Online Booking System.

O’Neil says it came after he asked for extra leg room on a flight from Melbourne to Perth.

The Australian Airline in return asked him to pay $987,999,999.

That’s more than $761 million U.S. dollars.

According to Qantas, the usual charge is $70 for extra legroom.

A Qantas spokesperson says they will investigate the incident, calling the price O’Neil received “a bit of a stretch.”
