All charges against former PC basketball player Alyn Breed dropped

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The charges against former Providence College men’s basketball player Alyn Breed in connection to an alleged domestic dispute in April were dropped by the state Wednesday.

According to court documents obtained by ABC 6 News, prosecutors saying they did not have enough evidence in the case to move forward.

Providence police said on April 2, 2023, that 21-year-old Alyn Breed was arrested on numerous charges after an incident involving his ex-girlfriend in which he was accused of pulling a gun on the 33-year-old woman and demanding her car keys.

The woman pulled back on the statement days later and a gun was never found by police.

Breed entered the NCAA transfer portal in July.
