Alyn Breed enters transfer portal amid open off-court case
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Months after being arrested in connection to a domestic dispute, Providence College men’s basketball player Alyn Breed entered the transfer portal.
24/7 High School Hoops first reported Wednesday that Breed entered the portal.
Breed, 21, was accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in April, pointing a gun at her, and demanding she give him her phone. He then left.
His attorney, Maria Deaton, said that Breed wasn’t breaking and entering, arguing that they were in an off-and-on relationship for the past year and that he had access to her phone and car.
His ex-girlfriend, who’s 33 years old and from California, recanted some of the allegations against Breed, saying she was intoxicated at the time of the incident and didn’t remember what happened.
Also in April, Providence College said that the 21-year-old was under review as part of its student disciplinary process. He was suspended from the men’s basketball team and from all Providence College athletics facilities and events.
Breed, who was a guard, played three seasons with the Friars.
