Andrade trial put on pause, witness test positive for COVID
FALL RIVER, MASS. (WLNE)- The trial for Genoveva Andrade, former Chief of Staff to ex-Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia, has been put on pause Thursday.
Andrade’s trial started Monday with jury selection, after her guilty plea was rejected earlier in June.
The trial was delayed Thursday, due to a witness testing positive for COVID, according to Judge Douglas Woodlock.
Andrade is facing serious extortion and bribery charges for her alleged connection in Correia’s marijuana extortion case.
The trial is expected to resume on March 7, 2022.
