Another day of sweltering heat
Providence, R.I. (WLNE)– Another hot day for us. Heat Advisory for East & SE Providence, Kent, and Bristol Co. until 8pm Friday evening.
Take frequent breaks if you plan on being outdoors, and please stay hydrated. The “feels like” temp will be in the 95-100 degree range.
Heading into the weekend our rain chances increase especially the further north and west you go. For Rhode Island it’s possible, but South Coast and Cape- not likely.
Sunday’s Pats game:
Muggy with scattered spot showers
Tailgating: Spot showers, 82.
Kickoff: A few showers, 79.
End of Game: 75.
Tracking the Tropics… Hurricane Lee.
National Hurricane Center is projecting this storm will be a cat 4 by Saturday morning. The Atlantic waters are running pretty warm and that will help this storm intensify. As of now, tropical tracks have it staying just north of Puerto Rico and then making a shift to the north.
Swells will be problematic for the coast causing rough surf by the following weekend (about 7-10 days out.)
This will be the 4th category 4 hurricane this year.
