Application period begins to join Pawtucket Police, Fire departments

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE)- Mayor Grebien, Police Chief Tina Goncalves, and Pawtucket Fire Chief William Sisson have announced the enrollment period for applicants to both the police and fire departments.
The requirements for those who wish to apply for the police department are the following:
- High school diploma or GED
- Thirty college credits from an accredited college or one year active military service
- At least 18-years-old, but no older than 35-years-old by March 21
- U.S. Citizen
- A valid driver’s license
The requirements for those who wish to apply for the fire department are the following:
- At least 18-years-old and a U.S. Citizen
- High school diploma or GED
- A valid drivers license
- Provide a certified copy of your driving record from your state residence (can not be more than 60-days from application)
- Provide a certified copy of your Bureau of Criminal Identification report from your state residence (can not be more than 60-days from application)
- Must have a valid Rhode Island Emergency Medical Technician License, EMT-Cardiac License, or Paramedic License.
- If you do not have one of the above, you will need to have a National Emergency Medical Technician certification pending a RI EMT-Basic License by the date of the Oral Interview
- Must present a valid certificate of successful completion of the RI Association of Fire Chiefs Physical Performance Assessment issued after April 1, 2021.

Applications began on February 7 and run until March 21.
