Arctic Cold for Christmas

Coastal Snow

Along the south coast we have the ocean-effect snow machine stirred up and it’s bringing accumulations as high as 3-5 inches to Block Island and even higher to Martha’s Vineyard.

Snow Forecast

Santa will no doubt need an extra layer out tonight. Evening temperatures tonight will be in the teens and feel like the single digits with clear skies.

The arctic blast of cold will continue to drive your weather through Christmas Day as well with morning temperatures again in the teens and morning chills in single digits. Sunday will be a warmer day in the afternoon. Plenty of sunshine should help to bring temperatures up to near 30 in the afternoon. High pressure will keep the sunshine through Monday and high temperatures will be even milder in the lower-30s. Once we get by midweek, we will swing the temperature trend for the warmer and we should top in the 50s by Friday.
