Armed Men Rob Cranston Store

Two armed men stormed into a Cranston store Tuesday morning, holding the clerk at gunpoint and stealing jewelry.

The robbery happened at “Players” on Garfield Avenue minutes before 10:30am.  The clerk told police that two masked men with guns ran into the store and forced her to the floor, then used a hammer to smash open a display case and take several trays full of gold chains, pendants and earrings.

As the suspects fled the store, the clerk tried to follow them but they were gone before she got outside.  They are both described as Hispanic men wearing dark blue hooded sweatshirts and masks.  One was wearing jeans, the other shorts.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Detective John Cardone of the Cranston Police at 447-5047.
