Man arrested in homicide outside cigar lounge, due in court

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE)- A man arrested for the homicide that took place outside Fab City Cigar Lounge is due in court Thursday.

36-year-old Qudus Kafo was killed outside of the lounge, while 37-year-old Prono Vaz was left fighting for his life.

Trequan Baker, 29, of Providence, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Murder in the 1st degree
  • Discharging a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence-resulting in death
  • Discharging a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence-resulting in bodily injury
  • Carrying a pistol or revolve without a license

This arrest was made in thanks to both the Pawtucket Police Department and Cranston Police Department through their Flock Camera System.

Baker was arraigned in Providence District Court and held without bail.
