PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — At least two University of Rhode Island students are accused of posting a racist video on TikTok.

In a statement Friday, Marc Parlagne, the university’s president, the video depicts “racist stereotypes about Black people.”

The video was a “stinging reminder of the long road URI and America has to travel to truly achieve justice, equity, diversity and inclusion on campus and in society,” noted the president.

The TikTok video has since been deleted.

Parlagne said the university will follow its policies and procedures to handle the issue.

No further information was immediately released.
