Attleboro and Fall River mayoral preliminary elections come to a close Tuesday

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE)- Both the Fall River and Attleboro preliminary elections are set to come to a close on Tuesday.

Attleboro’s primary election is one of many going on in the state. Current mayor Paul Heroux is facing off against Todd McGhee and Jim Poore.

Fall River’s preliminary election sees Mayor Paul Coogan taking on three challengers. City Council President Cliff Ponte, Jonathan James Albernaz, and Michael Vandal are all in the running.

The two candidates with the most votes will face off in November’s general election.

Polls in Fall River open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
