An Attleboro man is due in court Tuesday for allegedly beating his 4-month-old baby.
22-year-old Ryan Ellis of Jackson St. is charged with assault and battery on a child with substantial bodily injury.
Police say Ellis called 911 Sunday to report a medical emergency involving the boy. The baby was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital for a “significant” leg and other injuries. He is expected to be okay.
Ellis was arrested following a police investigation. He was arraigned in Attleboro District Court Tuesday on a charge of assault and battery on a child under 14 causing serious bodily injury.

Ellis was held on $50,000 bail.
The State Department of Children and Families has taken custody of the boy.
