ATTLEBORO, M.A. (WLNE) – Four people were transported to the hospital after a two-alarm fire broke out at an Attleboro apartment complex fire Friday evening.
Attleboro, Providence and Seekonk firefighters responded around four p.m. on Knight Avenue to a fire in a single third floor unit.
The four people were transported as a precaution and did not have any serious injuries.
Neighbors tell ABC 6 the incident started when a lit cigarette caught a mattress on fire.
It’s not clear how badly the apartment was damaged.
The cause is under investigation, though officials said it appears to be accidental.
