Attleboro High School principal selected as new superintendent of Dighton-Rehoboth schools

ATTLEBORO, MASS. (WLNE)- Attleboro High School Principal Bill Runey has been voted as the new superintendent of the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District.

The Dighton Rehoboth School Committee unanimously selected Runey as the Superintendent of Schools for the 2022-2023 year.

Runey has served as the Principal of Attleboro High School for the past 10 years. Prior to that, he served as the Principal of Bishop Feehan High School.

“During his time at Attleboro High School, Mr. Runey changed the culture within the building which had positive effects throughout Attleboro Public Schools. The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District School Committee is excited for the future of the District and is looking forward to working with Mr. Runey for many years to come,” says the Dighton-Rehoboth School Committee.

This decision was made by parents,  town officials, community members, and school personnel from the Dighton-Rehoboth community.

His pending contract is still being negotiated.

Runey will assume his duties as of July 1, 2022.

“I’m grateful to their school committee for their confidence in me and appreciative of everyone in Attleboro who has prepared me for this opportunity,” says Runey.
