Authorities ID carjacking suspect fatally shot by police in Mass.

NEWBURY, Mass. (WLNE) — Authorities in Massachusetts have identified the carjacking suspect fatally shot by state police Sunday.

According to the district attorney’s office, 31-year-old Thomas Murray of Dracut was shot at a gas station in Newbury, after he rammed police cruisers that had boxed him in.

State police say it all started in Lowell, when Murray carjacked an elderly woman. He then drove to Nashua, New Hampshire, where he stole an SUV from a dealership from a dealership and stabbed an employee there.

Authorities believe Murray was responsible for four carjackings across Massachusetts over the course of three days.
