Bally’s celebrates grand opening of new Event Lawn
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island leaders cut the ribbon at the new Bally’s Event Lawn in Providence on Wednesday.
Gov. Dan McKee, Lt. Gov. Sabina Matos, Mayor Brett Smiley, and Bally’s representatives were in attendance at the opening ceremony.
“Bally’s is pleased to sponsor this section of the 195 District Park and preserve it as open space for all to enjoy,” said Craig Eaton, the President of Rhode Island operations for Bally’s.
“In addition to serving as an outdoor area for workday respite and neighborhood gatherings, it is our hope that the space will serve as an ideal location for special events, a celebration of the diverse Providence culture and a center of downtown outdoor activity,” Eaton continued.
The new space is located in the seven-acre 195 District Park on Peck Street.
The new Bally’s Event Lawn is part of the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission.
