Benefit planned for kids of dismembered RI woman

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (AP) – A benefit is being planned for the children of a woman who was found stabbed to death and dismembered in Johnston.

The benefit for the children of Stacie Dorego will take place at the Harbourside Lobstermania in East Greenwich in March. Event organizers say the proceeds will benefit her three young children. Authorities say the 39-year-old Dorego was killed by her boyfriend, Donald Greenslit, at their home in Johnston after an argument. They say Greenslit confessed to cutting up her body and trying to burn it in a fireplace.

Greenslit faces charges including domestic murder, child abuse and violating a no-contact order. He and Dorego had two children together.
