Bill proposed to stop RIEDC from hiring a PR firm

Just days after the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation agreed to dish out $10,000 a month to hire a public relations firm, the Rhode Island General Assembly and trying to put the brakes one the move.

The bill sponsored by Representatives Lima, Casey, Abney, McNamara, and Lombardi, prohibits the RIDEDC from hiring a PR firm.

The board approved the RIEDC's request to hire the New Harbor Group to provide marketing advice and media relations services to the group

The RIEDC has been struggling with its public image since the failed 38 Studios deal.
