BJ Upton Out Against Sox

BOSTON (AP) – B.J. Upton is not in Tampa Bay's starting lineup

again against the Boston Red Sox, but this time Rays manager Joe

Maddon says the absence is injury related.

Maddon says Upton is out of Wednesday night's lineup because of

a sore right quadriceps. Upton didn't want to talk about the injury

when he walked to the trainer's room before the game.

On Tuesday, Maddon said he didn't have the center fielder in the

starting lineup, but added it was unrelated to the dugout

confrontation Upton had with teammate Evan Longoria on Sunday.
