Black ice causes 5 car crash in North Kingstown

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — Black ice conditions led to a five car crash Wednesday morning in North Kingstown.

The crash happened just after 6 a.m. on Route 403 east at exit 3B.

North Kingstown Fire Chief Scott Kettelle said the injuries were minor.

Kettelle said black ice, sun glares, and drivers failing to slow down were factors in the crash.

The Department of Transportation tweeted that the crash blocked all travel lanes. It was cleared just before 8 a.m.

No further information was immediately released.
