Congressman David Cicilline is looking to establish a new national park here in Rhode Island.

The congressman testified before the House Committee on Natural Resource's Subcommittee on Public Lands and Environmental Regulation, asking for them to approve a national park in the Blackstone River Valley.

“I can think of no better way to honor our state's leading role in the American Industrial Revolution than by establishing a new national park unit in the Blackstone River Valley,” said Congressman Cicilline.

Senator Jack Reed introduced the idea to the Senate, as well.
