Board of Licenses sets conditions for Federal Hill restaurant after fight

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Board of Licenses set some conditions for a Federal Hill restaurant that was shut down after a fight broke out last weekend.
The Board of Licenses said Friday that VL Restaurant and Lounge on Atwells Avenue has to implement a new security plan and is not allowed to do third-party advertising for promotions.
The establishment, said the board, withdrew its 2 a.m. license application and issued restraining orders against those involved in the altercation.
Police said that on Mother’s Day, Desire Barrett and Patricia Nance were fighting after Barrett claimed Nance hit her in the face with a cell phone and was jumped by her friends.
Nance was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault. Two of her friends face similar charges.
Barrett faces a disorderly conduct charge.
