Body found in Bristol waters identified

BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE)- Bristol Police have identified the body of a woman who was found in the waters of Walker Cove Thursday.

Bristol Fire Department retrieved the body from the water Thursday around 12 p.m.

R.I. Detectives from the Portsmouth Police Department, as well as investigators from the State Medical Examiner’s Office, responded to the scene.

The body was identified as 39-year-old Laura Ward of Prudence Island.

She had been missing since December 6, after falling overboard the Prudence Island Ferry.
