Body of missing Massachusetts jet-skier recovered from Connecticut River

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The body of a man, reported missing after his jet-ski collided with a boat was recovered from the bottom of the Connecticut River on Tuesday.

According to police, the body of the jet-skier, identified as Carlos Lopez, was recovered approximately 15 feet under the surface about 150 feet from the shore.

Authorities said they located the body using a remotely operated vehicle and then dive teams went to work bringing the deceased to shore.

The body was found after two days of searching with sonar technology after the accident on Sunday.

The office of the Chief Medical Examiner is in custody of the body and the collision remains under investigation by state police.
