Boston Man Convicted in Club Passion Gang Murder

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A Boston man has been convicted in Rhode Island of shooting a member of a rival gang outside a Providence night club.

Dana Gallop was convicted Wednesday of first-degree murder for shooting 24-year-old Anthony Parrish of Boston outside Club Passion in December 2008. The 25-year-old Gallop was also convicted of an assault charge of injuring another man in the same incident.

Judge Robert Krause did not immediately schedule a date for sentencing.

Prosecutors are asking that Gallop be classified as a habitual offender for sentencing purposes, which could mean additional prison time under state law.

Gallop was returned to prison after his conviction.
