Boston police arrest suspect in Public Garden sexual assault

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) – Boston police have arrested a Chelsea man in connection to a sexual assault that happened at the Boston Public Garden on Sunday, November 8.

In a press release, police say 38-year-old Francisco Romero is being charged with aggravated rape, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, and kidnapping. Romero was arrested on Library Street in Chelsea on Wednesday.

The assault happened on November 8 around 2 a.m. when Romero forcefully brought the victim through the Boston Common and into the Public Garden where he sexually assaulted her.
