Branch Avenue in Providence closed for flash flooding

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The City of Providence announced on social media that Branch Avenue between Langdon and Douglas Avenues are closed.

The city said the area has experienced flash flooding and commuters are asked to avoid the area.

RIDOT traffic camera show a scene at the Branch Avenue Shopping Plaza parking lot where rescue teams were seen piloting a boat to access stranded cars in the lot.

No information regarding any injuries was immediately released.
