Breast Cancer Awareness Month

You’ll be seeing an awful lot of pink this month. October first marks the start of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

There are some astounding figures about Rhode Island women and breast cancer. One in six will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime.

2014 is a milestone year for the Gloria Gemma Foundation as the organization celebrates its 10–year anniversary. Over the past decade, the local nonprofit has provided support, education, and awareness to tens of thousands of individuals affected by breast cancer in our local communities.

One event that draws so many to Providence is the Flames of Hope which is in its 9th year. It will be held Columbus Day weekend, October 10th – 12th.
