Bridge repair in Mansfield may delay drivers starting Sunday

MANSFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said it will be performing bridge repairs on the bridge carrying Interstate 495 over the Rumford River in Mansfield starting Sunday.

The department said the work will occur Sunday through Thursday weekly between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning.

MassDOT added that the work is expected to end on Aug. 25.

The work will also require temporary changes to traffic patterns and at least one lane will be open at all times.

Drivers should drive cautiously and expect delays.
