Brief pattern break, but humidity and shower chances return into the 4th

Another muggy day out there, but comfier air is on the way!

We also got pretty lucky as all of the showers and storms stayed north and west for most of the day. Shower chances will diminish for the next few days.

Expect mainly dry weather and increased sunshine Thursday and Friday, with lower humidity and slightly warmer temperatures as well.W

We will also see an uptick in smoke particles in the atmosphere as another wildfire-related plume shifts eastward.

Air quality will reduce a bit, but not nearly as low as they did with the event a few weeks back. Something to keep in mind for those with respiratory ailments, as well as elderly.

My colleague John DeLuca called this recent pattern a ‘rut’, and so we will re-enter this rut starting Sunday. Humidity climbs back up and we will have a daily shower or storm chance through Independence Day. This is NOT weather you would cancel plans over, and with the increased humidity it will make beach plans favorable. Just be weather aware each day and prepare for occasional indoor breaks should showers approach.

Have a great night!
