TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office on Monday identified the man who was electrocuted to death in Taunton last week.

District Attorney Thomas Quinn said Michael Messina was electrocuted to death while trying to remove an antenna from a home on Danforth Street.

Messina, 58, was removing the antenna from the three-story building at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday, when the antenna touched a nearby power line and electrocuted him. He was subsequently killed.

Police said the surge from the antenna also caused the outside of the three-story home to catch fire.

Quinn said foul play is not suspected.
