Bristol emergency crews rescue 60-year-old kite surfer

BRISTOL, R.I (WLNE) – Bristol police and fire marine units rescued a kite surfer in distress who was 1 mile offshore on Wednesday.

At 4:07 PM, emergency crews were dispatched to the area off Fales Rd/Rumstick Pt.

Emergency crews located the kite surfer whose kite was tangled as he was drifting.

The 60-year-old man was found 1 mile northwest offshore at the time, according to police.

Patrolmen were able to safely bring the man aboard the safe boat and transport him to shore for medical evaluation.

No injuries have been reported by police.
