Brockton man wanted on assault charges accused of dragging trooper with speeding car
BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A Brockton man is facing a slew of charges after an incident caught on camera where a trooper was dragged by a speeding car on Thursday.
Massachusetts State Police said 31-year-old Derrick Lobo, who was wanted for assault and motor vehicle charges, was stopped on Montpellier Street for a traffic violation.
He is accused of speeding away with a trooper hanging from his car door. The trooper had minor injuries.
Lobo was arrested at a home on Union Street. Police said the trooper who actually placed him in custody was the same trooper who was dragged in the incident.
Lobo faces many charges, including assault and battery on a police officer.
He was given a $5,000 bail plus a standard $40 bail fee.
Lobo is set to be arraigned in Brockton District Court on Friday.
