Crews are working to clean up the damage from a water main break in downtown Providence.

It happened around 3:00 am Sunday in the area of Fountain Street and the Regency Plaza Apartments.

Water quickly flooded the streets and caused water damage to the fitness center of the apartment complex. Dirt also washed into their garages.

Two of the three apartment buildings in the complex are without water for their sprinkler systems.

There were also reports of flooding in the lower levels of area buildings and parking garages.

Despite the flooding, no residents have been displaced.

Crews expect to finish repairs by Sunday afternoon.
