Brown Holds Off St. Francis For Wednesday Win

Brown holds on to beat St. Francis (N.Y.) 67-63

      PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Tucker Halpern scored 15 points and
Brown held off St. Francis (N.Y.) 67-63 on Wednesday.
      The Bears (3-1) shot 63 percent (17 of 27) from the floor in the
first half, including going 4 for 4 from 3-point range on their way
to a 38-23 halftime lead.
      Brown led just 9-6 with 15:10 left in the first half before
scoring nine straight over the next 2:44.
      The Terriers (3-2), who made just 9 of 26 shots in the first
half (34.6 percent), improved their shooting to a 50 percent effort
in the second half (15 of 30).
      St. Francis cut the score to 65-63 on Ricky Cadell's 3-pointer
with 7 seconds left.
      The Bears, however, held on as Halpern hit both of his free
throws two seconds later.
      Garrett Leffelman scored 13 points and Sean McGonagill added 11
for Brown.
      Cadell finished with 19 points.
