Brown University loosens mask restrictions
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Brown University announced the loosening of its mask restrictions on Wednesday morning.
The restrictions for community members, who are up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations, have been updated for lectures, indoor performances, and indoor athletic and recreation activities.
Instructors will no longer have to wear masks during lectures. However, students will still be required to wear them.
Performers will no longer have to wear masks during theater productions, dance performances, music performances, a cappella concerts, and other performance events. The audience members will still be required to wear masks.
Community members who are participating in indoor athletic or recreation activities will no longer have to wear masks.
This includes varsity athletic practice and competition, club and intramural athletic competition, and use of indoor facilities such as the Nelson Fitness Center.
Mask wearing in other indoor settings remains required for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, as detailed on the Campus Activity Status page.
