Bruins fans gearing up for Stanley Cup Finals

While many people were out enjoying Memorial Day at the beach or barbecuing with family, hockey was still at top of the minds of Bruins fans Monday, as the B’s are set to take on the St. Louis Blues in game one of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Fans tell ABC6 that they have total faith in their team, thinking the Bruins can bring Boston its third sports crown within the last year.

Fans were decked out in their black and gold, waiting anxiously for the puck drop at TD Garden for game one.

Longtime fan Timothy Sauro believes that the Blues have no chance against the Bruins.

“The whole first line, this team is just in sync. In the zone. They’re not stopping them [and] we’re going to bring home the cup,” Sauro said. “We’re going to kill them.

“We’re unstoppable, and we’re actually going to dominate the whole game,” said Bruins fan Samantha Bass.

Fans agree that the series lies on the shoulders of goaltender Tuukka Rask, which doesn’t seem to bother them at all. In fact, they believe he’ll have the series of his career.

“Tuukka is unstoppable right now nothing is getting by him,” Sauro said. “We’re the better team all around.”

“Been a fan since Tuukka started about six years ago, so its really exciting,” Bass said. “[Rask] stood on his head all season.”

If the Bruins take home the Cup, it would be Boston’s third championship in sports this year. Fans are no doubt excited about it, but also a bit sour about the Celtics’ disappointing loss to the Bucks in the NBA playoffs.

“Yea we can do three championships, although we should’ve had four, maybe. But three we’ll take,” Sauro said. “Bruins in five.”

The puck will drop at 8:00 p.m. at TD Garden. Game two will be Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.
