Bruins Send Johnston Native Noel Acciari to Providence to Continue Rehab

Providence, RI ­– The Boston Bruins announced today that C Noel Acciari has been assigned to the Providence Bruins as he works his way back from a lower body injury. Acciari suffered the injury November 7 in Boston’s game against the Buffalo Sabers and has not played in a game since. His first chance to be in Providence’s lineup is Friday against the Toronto Marlies.

The Johnston, Rhode Island native played in 12 games for Boston before the injury, posting two points (both assists), four penalty minutes and a +1 rating. Overall he has skated in 31 career NHL games with the Bruins over the past two seasons, compiling three assists and 12 penalty minutes.

Acciari made his NHL debut for Boston last season on March 1 after playing 45 games with Providence. While with the P-Bruins, he scored seven goals with 12 assists for 19 points and a +12 rating. He added a goal and two assists in three playoff games for Providence as well.

Prior to signing a 2-year, entry-level contract with Boston on June 2, 2015, Acciari played college hockey at Providence College from 2011-12 to 2014-15. In his three years, he played 113 games tallying 32 goals, 33 assists and 65 points while posting a +23 rating.
