Business boost in Fall River

Fall River's downtown is getting a business boost.

Work has begun turning three empty store fronts on North Main Street into a restaurant. The first part of “Dunny's Historic American Grill” will open by the end of the summer. It's supposed to have a historical flair. There's already some firefighter themed memorabilia in the window.

“You're seeing an investment back into the community, and it's good to see that investment going in our downtown,” said Mayor Will Flanagan, “Where you once had a vacant store front, you now have business being created, taxes are being stimulated, and it's giving our citizens an opportunity to shop locally.”

Mayor Flanagan admits downtown business has dwindled over the years. The restaurant should be finished next year.
