BUTTON HOLE : COVID -19 Update MAY 8, 2020
First and foremost – we hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.
Mayor Elorza has lifted the ban on golf in Providence. Button Hole will reopen on Monday,
May 11th
. All Rhode Island Department of Regulations (Covid-19) will be in effect and
enforced for the golf industry.
During Phase 1 hours of operation will be 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily (starting Monday, May
11th
). The driving range and course will be open for play with restrictions: only one person
per hitting bay, players must bring their own equipment (rental clubs or push carts will not
be available), credit or debit payment is preferred, and flagsticks cannot be removed. Due
to social distancing our driving range hitting bays will be reduced in number and players
may be asked to stay in their car while awaiting an open bay. There will be no congregating
in the parking lot. The upper practice green is limited to five players at a time while following
appropriate social distancing of at least 6 feet (face masks required).
As we navigate the challenges associated with an unprecedented COVID-19 (coronavirus)
and continue to restore our clubhouse from our recent fire damage, Button Hole staff is
working diligently to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable visit. Face masks must be
worn and social distancing (6 feet or more) must be followed. Please follow the directions
and instructions provided by Button Hole staff. Your compliance is required for everyone’s
safety. Per state regulations only Rhode Island residents are permitted on the premises.
Proof of Rhode Island residency is required. Out of state license plates are not permitted in
the parking lot.
In the meantime, we are taking extra steps to ensure the safety of ourselves and each
visitor. As we look forward to the upcoming golf season and will share news and updates
regarding golf instructional classes (currently suspended); golf clinics (Veterans and other
groups), tournaments and events. For now please enjoy hitting a bucket of balls or playing
a round. Once completed visitors are expected to return to their cars and exit the premises.
